Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 ½ cups red apple vinegar
  • 1 shallot (minced)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of your favorite cheese
  • Lettuce and thick tomato slices for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium saucepan, boil the red apple vinegar and shallots until reduced by half (20–30 minutes). Stir in butter and brown sugar until melted and smooth.
  2. Form Patties: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and a quarter cup of the sauce mixture. Shape into four patties.
  3. Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill patties for about 3 minutes per side, brushing with additional sauce before removing from heat.
  4. Assemble: Toast burger buns on the grill. Layer each bottom bun with a patty, top with tomato slices and lettuce, then cover with the top bun.
