  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients required on the back)
  • 12.8 oz hot fudge sauce
  • 3.4 oz instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 30 crushed Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz Cool Whip (thawed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven as per cake mix instructions. Prepare the chocolate cake mix with eggs, oil, and water as directed on the box.
  2. Pour batter into a greased pan and bake until a toothpick comes out clean (about 25 minutes). Let cool.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until smooth; let thicken for 5 minutes.
  4. Crumble cooled chocolate cake into pieces in another bowl. In a large dish or trifle bowl, layer half of the crumbled cake, followed by half of the hot fudge sauce, half of the pudding mixture, half of the crushed Oreos, and half of the Cool Whip.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
