  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm milk and sugar; let it foam.
  2. Combine melted butter, eggs, and remaining milk with the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix flour and salt; add wet ingredients and knead until the dough is soft.
  4. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough, spread apple butter, sprinkle sugars and cinnamon, then roll into a log.
  6. Cut into rounds, place in a greased pan, and let rise again.
  7. Bake at 350°F until golden brown.
  8. Prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and cinnamon; spread over warm rolls.
